The Town of Wellton has a Council-Manager government structure. It is governed by a mayor, four council members, and a town manager. The Town Council is elected to serve four year staggered terms. After each election, the council selects one of its member to serve as mayor and one of its member to serve as mayor pro tem.
The Council meets the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00PM in the Town Council Chambers. Special meetings, in addition to, or in lieu of these meetings, may be held. Meetings scheduled which do not have a quorum of the members present will not be held.
Town Hall is located at 28634 Oakland Avenue, Wellton, Arizona. The Council Chambers is located in the rear of Town Hall.

Vickie Bornt was born in Bremerton, WA in 1953. Transferred to Yuma in 1989 and moved to Wellton in 1999. Worked under the Department of Defense (DoD) for 36 years, retiring from the U.S. Army Yuma Proving Ground (YPG) in 2009. Positions held while at YPG included Army Communities of Excellence Coordinator, Adjutant, Director of Morale, Welfare and Recreation, and Sustainment Coordinator. Served as the Department of Army representative on the DoD Sustainability Committee, and the YPG representative on the Range Commander’s Council, Sustainability Group. Also served as YPG representative on the Greater Yuma Port Authority and Governor’s Military Affairs Committee. Has served on the Wellton Town Council since 2013.
Larry Killman was born on July 10, 1955 in Yuma, Arizona to Floyd and Katie Killman. He is a 4th generation Yuma County resident. His great-grandparents, Harvey and Minnie Worthington, moved to Yuma in 1905. Laura Worthington-Killman, his grandmother, was born in Yuma in 1913 and her family relocated to the Wellton-Mohawk Valley in 1919. Throughout her life Laura strove to impart the local history on younger generations. Larry and Cindy Killman are celebrating 37 years of marriage and have successfully raised two wonderful children, Candis and Lucas. Larry worked for the Wellton-Mohawk Irrigation and Drainage District for 28 years. He built his own consulting firm alongside his wife Cindy, Tierra Environmental Consultants in 2006, and remains self-employed. An abbreviated list of professional affiliations includes Project Central Class 12 (1996), Arizona Crop Improvement Association, as well as Yuma Country Redistricting Commission (2000). Larry has been previously elected for 4 terms on the Wellton Elementary School Board (1993-2008) and is currently he serving his 5th as Board President for the 2015 term. Larry is an avid hunter, baseball enthusiast, and enjoys playing golf. His life goals include community service and one day relishing his role as a grandfather.
